Pulaski County Clerk Partners with Center for Arkansas Legal Services to offer Free Legal Advice

The Pulaski County Circuit and County Clerk’s office has partnered with the Center for Arkansas Legal Services for a Court Help Desk event in the rotunda of the Pulaski County Courthouse.

Attorneys will be on site to provide free civil legal advice for residents seeking assistance with preparing their documents to be filed in the clerk’s office. Income restrictions apply.

No appointment is required to participate and is open to the public. Residents can check in and then speak face-to-face with an attorney to discuss a range of topics including estate planning, criminal record sealing, child custody, divorces, deeds, probate, evictions, debt collections, power of attorney and doing-business-as.

WHY:              Navigating the complexities of court procedures without assistance from an attorney can be challenging. Unfortunately, the county clerk’s staff is prohibited from giving legal advice to the public. Luckily, the Center for Arkansas Legal Services (CALS) provides free legal help to low-income Arkansans in civil cases. By creating the Court Help Desk, we are bringing awareness of pro-bono legal services to the citizens of Pulaski County, which enhances the public’s confidence in the legal system.
