Disaster Assistance: Legal Issues That Happen after a Natural Disaster

Disaster in Arkansas

Current Disaster: March 31, 2023- The tornado (rated EF3/165 mph peak wind) tracked roughly thirty-two miles from west Little Rock through North Little Rock, Sherwood, and Jacksonville (all in Pulaski County) before finally weakening on the southeast side of Cabot (Lonoke County). The President issued a disaster declaration for Cross, Lonoke, and Pulaski counties.

Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

The resources listed here are meant to provide legal resources to those who have been directly affected by a disaster. This includes general information helpful to disaster relief on housing, insurance claims, insurance, employment, and other vital issues.
